Pebble Beach Golf Links is a bucket-list round for golfers who can secure a resort-backed tee time; non-golfers should treat it as a brief Lodge-side scenic stop within 17-Mile Drive, not a walkable course attraction.
Book lodging and golf together
To reserve more than 24 hours ahead, stay at The Lodge, The Inn at Spanish Bay or Casa Palmero and request your Pebble tee time when booking; non-resort guests can book only 24 hours ahead, subject to availability.
MorePay the 17-Mile Drive fee
Day visitors need 17-Mile Drive vehicle admission at US$12.50 per vehicle; it is reimbursable with a US$35 purchase at participating Pebble Beach Resorts restaurants, excluding Pebble Beach Market.
MoreDo not expect course-side access
Non-golfers may use the Lodge/Visitor Center area for views of the first tee, putting green and 18th fairway, but cannot freely walk the course during play.
MoreAllow a short stop or full golf day
Plan 45–90 minutes for the Lodge-side viewpoint stop, or 7–8 hours door-to-door for a round including early arrival, warm-up and a 4½–5½-hour round.
MorePebble Beach Golf Links is an 18-hole, par-72 public-resort golf course on the Carmel Bay headlands in Pebble Beach, within the privately managed Del Monte Forest. Designed by amateur champions Jack Neville and Douglas Grant, it opened on February 22, 1919 after Samuel F. B. Morse promoted the course to make the Pebble Beach landholding more attractive for real estate. Its defining premise was to place as many holes as possible beside the Pacific; today it is Pebble Beach Resorts’ signature course, known for the cliffside stretch at holes 6–10, the exposed par-3 17th, and the Carmel Bay finish at 18. It has hosted six U.S. Opens through 2019, the 2023 U.S. Women’s Open and the annual AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am; the next men’s U.S. Open is scheduled here for 2027.
For golfers, Pebble Beach is one of the rare, globally famous championship courses that the public can play: the ocean holes, major-championship history and closing stretch make the high-cost round genuinely distinctive. Non-golfers can make a brief scenic stop at The Lodge/Visitor Center area to see the first tee, putting green, 18th fairway and Stillwater Cove, but should not expect a course tour or free access to walk the fairways. Skip playing if the premium cost, resort-guest booking advantage, slow-round potential or exposed wind and fog would overwhelm the experience.
Before you go
There is no standard golf-course admission ticket or unrestricted walking access. For a drive-in visit, pay the 17-Mile Drive vehicle fee of US$12.50 at the gate; it gives access to the private road network and the Lodge/Visitor Center area, not permission to walk the course during play. The fee is reimbursable with a US$35+ purchase at participating Pebble Beach Resorts restaurants, excluding Pebble Beach Market. Source: https://www.pebblebeach.com/17-mile-drive/
Book through Pebble Beach Resorts’ official golf booking process: https://www.pebblebeach.com/plan-my-trip/booking-guidelines/. Resort guests at The Lodge at Pebble Beach, The Inn at Spanish Bay, and Casa Palmero may reserve golf up to 18 months ahead, subject to minimum-stay requirements. Non-resort guests can reserve Pebble Beach Golf Links only 24 hours ahead, subject to availability. If you are not staying at the resort, contact official reservations for next-day cancellations rather than buying a speculative tee time from a reseller.
Only with pro-shop approval and subject to availability and safety rules. Accompanying spectators must ride in a paid golf cart; there may be no more than four spectator carts per tee time, and children under seven cannot accompany spectators on the course. The resort does not publish a fixed spectator-cart price. Check with the pro shop before seeking course access. Source: https://www.pebblebeach.com/plan-my-trip/frequently-asked-questions/
