Getting in

• Antananarivo Ivato International Airport: Ranomafana has no useful scheduled-air arrival. The sensible route is a pre-arranged car/driver south on RN7 to the Fianarantsoa area, then east on RN25 to Ranomafana: allow a full 10–12 hours in good conditions, longer in rain. Do not plan a same-day international arrival and park hike. Taxi-brousse is far cheaper but slow, cramped and dependent on filling up; use it only if your schedule is loose.
• Fianarantsoa taxi-brousse terminus: This is the practical gateway. Arrange a hotel vehicle, private driver, or a local taxi-brousse onward to Ranomafana via RN25; the road journey is roughly 65 km and normally takes about 2–3 hours, but road and weather conditions matter more than the distance. A private transfer is the good option if you have luggage, want to reach a night walk on time, or are travelling in a group; agree the total fare before departure.
