Atlantis is worth the splurge for families, slide fans and groups wanting a full resort day, but it works best when you reserve the official Day Pass ahead and arrive at opening. Skip it for a quiet, low-cost or locally focused Bahamas experience.

Atlantis Paradise Island is a purpose-built, Atlantis-myth-themed mega-resort at One Casino Drive on Paradise Island, across Nassau Harbour from downtown Nassau. Developed from the former Resorts International property after Sol Kerzner’s 1994 purchase, its major Royal Towers-era expansion opened in 1998. It combines five hotel products with Aquaventure water park, beaches, pools, casino, marina, restaurants and a vast open-air marine-habitat system; Aquaventure spans 141 acres and the habitats hold more than 50,000 animals representing 250-plus species. It was designed as a self-contained, high-spend Caribbean destination rather than simply a beach hotel.
It is a strong splurge for families, first-time Bahamas visitors, slide enthusiasts and mixed-interest groups: one person can tackle water slides and the Rapids River while others use beaches, pools, marine exhibits, restaurants or the casino. The Royal Towers, The Dig and Predator Tunnel make the setting itself part of the attraction. Skip it if you want quiet, local Bahamian character, low-cost food and drinks, natural-reef snorkeling or an uncrowded, low-key beach day; it is large, commercial and not all-inclusive.
Before you go
Yes. Non-guests must buy an Aquaventure Day Pass in advance at https://www.atlantisbahamas.com/daybooking; daily capacity is limited. Select your actual visit date before paying, then bring the confirmation email, government photo ID, completed waiver and the card used to purchase. Do not buy wristbands from individuals: Atlantis may refuse unverifiable passes.
It includes one day of Aquaventure water park, pools except The Cove Pool and Baths Colonnade, beaches, The Dig, Predator Tunnel and the open-air marine habitats. It does not include food, paid animal encounters, cabanas, lockers or Cove-only areas.
Atlantis publishes date- and season-dependent Day Pass pricing rather than a fixed public adult price. Use the official booking calendar at https://www.atlantisbahamas.com/daybooking, select the intended date and review the displayed adult (13+), child (4–12) and availability details before booking. Children under 3 are free.
